We exist to foster economic, social, and community development in underserved communities across Puerto Rico.
The Corporation's mission is to expand access to safe, affordable housing and to support programs that strengthen families, youth, and local neighborhoods — serving underserved communities across Puerto Rico.
Five program areas — launching in phases, beginning with affordable housing — designed to uplift every dimension of community life — from housing to youth development to economic empowerment.
We plan, develop, finance, construct, own, and operate affordable rental housing for low- and moderate-income families, leveraging LIHTC, USDA Section 538, and HUD-assisted programs. Current project: the 538 Saint Luke Community Campus in Barrio Playa, Ponce, where 538 CDC is the developer (predevelopment).
We develop and rehabilitate community centers, faith-based ministry facilities, recreational spaces including little league fields and basketball courts, and essential amenities for residents.
Recreational, educational, and mentorship programs for children and adolescents. Youth sports leagues, after-school programming, and family-strengthening initiatives for low-income families.
In partnership with local faith-based organizations, we plan to operate food banks, food distribution programs, emergency assistance coordination, and community outreach ministry programs.
We support economic empowerment through job creation, workforce development training, and small-business programs. We also research, write, and administer grants to bring federal and Commonwealth resources to the communities we serve.
All of our programs are directed exclusively to low- and moderate-income individuals and families in Puerto Rico.
Providing safe housing, food support, and family-strengthening programs to help families build stability and thrive in their communities.
After-school programs, mentorship, youth sports leagues, and recreational activities that give young people a safe place to grow and succeed.
Safe community environments, essential amenities, and social programs that support seniors in maintaining dignity, health, and connection to their community.
Workforce training, job creation initiatives, and small-business empowerment programs that open economic doors for residents of underserved municipalities.
